THE COLLECTIVE LAB
THE COLLECTIVE Lab offers Irish theatre makers the opportunity to develop new work, advance their practice, and collaborate with other artists. We invite you to explore interdisciplinary and intercultural contemporary theatre practice. Leading Irish and international artists will share their knowledge and experience through practical workshops and inspiring conversations. All of our Collective Lab activities, including artist-led workshops, public talks and POP UP, are available to artists and audiences. POP UP + POP UP Lab
POP UP is an artist led multidisciplinary contemporary performance night, conceived by Nyree Yergainharsian and Shaun Dunne, and brought to you by The Collective. POP UP aims to cultivate new audiences for contemporary performance, offer artists a platform to perform high quality new works, and build meaningful longstanding relationships with artists.
POP UP Lab is the artist development arm of the much-loved performance night. It offers artists an opportunity to further develop their practice with financial support, rehearsal space and artist-led mentorship. POP UP Lab artists can then go on to perform work as part of POP UP.
Talks
Our Talks feature Irish and international artists talking about their work and practice. All our talks are recorded live in front of an audience and are available to view on our website. in 2023 renowned American director Anne Bogart spoke to Jocelyn Clarke about making work, teaching and writing in national and global contexts. Workshops
Our project and practice focused workshops offer Irish theatre makers opportunities to collaborate and to create new work and to explore different techniques with leading Irish and international artists. These workshops will be documented and disseminated on our website.
In 2025 Indian director and playwright Abhishek Majumdar will lead a text workshop on his new play Blood/Milk/Water

POP UP Lab Dublin 2021
POP UP Lab 2021 offered artists support and mentorship to further their practice, while allowing them to build meaningful longstanding relationships with THE COLLECTIVE. We look forward to supporting more artists in 2022 and beyond.
