Earlier this summer, renowned American director Anne Bogart spoke with Jocelyn Clarke about making work, teaching, and writing in national and global contexts.

Anne Bogart is an American theatre and opera director, and the founding artistic director of SITI Company, which she found with Japanese director Tadeshi Suzuki. She has written four books of essays on theatre making: A Director Prepares; And Then, You Act; What's the Story; and The Art of Resonance, and co-wrote with director Tina Landau The Viewpoints Book a practical guide to her influential training and theatre making techniques of Viewpoints.  She has received two Best Director OBIE Awards, a Bessie Award, an American Theatre Wing Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a U.S. Artists Fellowship, a Richard B. Fisher Award, among many other honours.
